About this trek
The Cederberg is a sandstone wilderness north of Cape Town, famous for Wolfberg Arch, the Wolfberg Cracks scramble and the Maltese Cross formation. My published itinerary spreads Wolfberg Arch (~14–15 km), Maltese Cross (~7 km) and rest days across about five days with wild camping near Sanddrif.
This is not a waymarked European hut trail — heat, navigation and water planning matter. Use the Wolfberg Arch guide for the full five-day rhythm and the cracks article for the technical sections, then compare with Boesmanskloof if you’re choosing shorter Western Cape options.
