Lion's Head

Lion's Head is Cape Town's signature short summit hike — a spiralling path with chain-assisted sections near the top and 360° views over Table Mountain, the Atlantic and the city bowl.

I used Lion's Head (and other Cape Town trails) as training ground before longer trips like the Cederberg — it's the perfect weekday conditioning hike. Most fit hikers allow 1.5–3 hours round trip; sunrise is the classic timing.
