Table Mountain hiking overview — Platteklip Gorge, Woody Ravine, Newlands Circular Ravine and choosing your Cape Town summit route.

Overview
Table Mountain (1,086 m) dominates Cape Town — a UNESCO heritage site with multiple ascent routes from steep gorges to forest loops. There's no single "Table Mountain trail"; you choose a route (Platteklip, Woody Ravine, India Venster, Skeleton Gorge, etc.).
My films cover the longer challenging day hikes (5–8 hours) that locals love after lockdown — not the quick Lion's Head sprint. Watch the route-specific films below, then dive into the dedicated guides.
Route guides: Platteklip Gorge · Woody Ravine · Newlands Circular Ravine
Start with the route comparison guide to pick a line. Use the Trek Cost Calculator and Packing List Builder when you've chosen — ZAR parking, lunch and summit layers vary by route.
