Lee's booked stops
| Night | Property | Type | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| 0, 2 | Camping Officiel Wollefsschlucht | Pitch | €16 — Echternach gateway; arrived after dark Day 0 |
| 1 | Alter Banhof Camping | Pitch | €21 — Moersdorf, Germany; showers + restaurant |
| 3 | Camping La Pinede | Hiker cabin | €64 — Consdorf; 4-person cabin |
| 4 | Camping Auf Kengert | Hiker cabin | €56 — past Larochette; pool + restaurant |
| 5 | Beaufort Youth Hostel | Dorm | €36 — clean, warm; no cabin campsites nearby |
Larochette lesson: local campsite required 2-night minimum for cabins — I walked 2.5 km further to Kengert instead.
Campsites
Well-maintained sites with showers, small shops and often restaurants. Book in peak summer — I booked ahead and avoided post-20 km searches.
Hiker cabins
Middle ground — no tent weight, real bed, basic shelter. I used cabins on Days 3–4 after long hot stages. Worth the €30–65 when your back needs a break.
Youth hostels & guesthouses
Echternach and Larochette have guesthouses for comfort nights. Beaufort hostel worked when no cabin options existed — social, budget-friendly.
Booking strategy
- Book ahead — trail popularity is rising
- Mix camp + cabin — Lee alternated by stage length and weather
- Check minimum stays near Larochette in high season
- Use free Luxembourg buses to return to car in Echternach if stage-ending elsewhere
