Matka Canyon isn't a backcountry trek — you'll find riverside restaurants, dam-side vendors and some of the best-value meals in Europe with canyon views.

• Vendors appear partway along the canyon — not everywhere
• Budget 50–100 MKD per drink/snack
• Bring fruit, nuts or a bar as backup

Don't rely on vendors if taking a long detour or side trail.

Cash is king

• Restaurants near the dam: often cash only
• Trail kiosks: MKD small bills
• No ATMs at canyon — withdraw in Skopje
