The Giants Cup Trail is hut-to-hut through uKhahlamba-Drakensberg Park — Ezemvelo KZN Wildlife provides basic shelters and mattresses; you bring sleeping bag, stove and all food.

- Stove, fuel, cookware
- All food for 5 days
- Biodegradable soap, small towel
- Rubbish bags — carry all waste out
- Full rain kit — huts don't dry you

Booking via Ezemvelo
- Choose start month and confirm hut availability for all five nights
- Book through Ezemvelo KZN Wildlife online or office
- Pay conservation and trail fees per current tariff
- Collect permits / paperwork as instructed
- Note hut sequence on your booking confirmation
Peak holidays (Easter, December) fill early — but generally less competitive than Otter Trail lottery pressure.
Pre- and post-trail lodging
Before Day 1 (Pholela / Giants Castle)
- Guesthouses near Giants Castle or Cobham access roads
- Arrive the day before — last access roads can be slow
- Final grocery top-up if needed
After Day 5 (Bushman's Nek)
- Remote finish — shuttle to Underberg, Himeville or Durban
- Hot shower and proper meal — you've earned it
Underberg / Himeville are the standard supply and recovery bases for Drakensberg hiking.
