Overview
The Kungsleden (“King’s Trail”) runs 440+ km through Swedish Lapland, but most bucket-list hikers start with Abisko → Nikkaluokta — roughly 105 km over 7–10 days of moderate walking through Arctic birch forest and open tundra.
Lee has not hiked Kungsleden yet. It is on the bucket list as the Scandinavian counterpoint to Alpine hut treks: self-catered STF huts, long daylight and lower technical difficulty than AV1 or TMB — but real remoteness and mosquito season logistics.
Compare hut culture with Laugavegur (Lee hiked first-hand) and gentler European loops like Mullerthal. Verify hut bookings on STF / Swedish Tourist Association before you fly to Kiruna.
On Lee’s bucket list — classic Arctic hut trail; not hiked first-hand yet.
